Jacqueline Spano is South African and began her IT career in 1989, before internet, before windows, before cloud, before cyber became a thing.  Her discipline, persistence and analytical personality has resulted in a 30+ year IT journey, successfully managing technology, multi-cultural teams, projects, governance service delivery and complex IT implementations in large, global organisations such as TotalEnergies, Saint-Gobain, Anglo American and South African Breweries.  The early IT Helpdesk support days, transitioned to Project Management, then to IT Management and finally to the role she has today.  Her current journey within TotalEnergies began in 2011, in the IT team of the Marketing & Services Branch in Johannesburg, South Africa, as SAP and Business Applications Manager.  After a small stint of 18 months, at the TotalEnergies Head Office in France, she returned to TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa, as Information Systems Manager.  After 7 years in this very challenging role, and thanks to the TotalEnergies Better Together progamme, a door opened in the CyberSecurity Team within the TotalEnergies Exploration & Production branch.  She has been in the role of Chief Information Security Officer for the Exploration & Production Branch since August 2021.  Jacqueline is married to a very patient and long suffering husband, has two sons and two dogs and is currently working and living her dream in Pau, France.
